Oman Air has appointed Mahfood Ali Saleem Al Harthy to the new position of chief officer, sales. Based at Oman Air’s headquarters in Muscat, Mr Al Harthy will report to chief operating officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy.

Mr Al Harthy, pictured right, an Omani citizen, joins Oman Air from Etihad Airways, where he held the position of general manager - Oman, prior to which he was managing director of AFKAR Enterprises & Investment Co. LLC for three years.
Mr Al Harthy’s appointment comes shortly before the airline takes delivery of the first of 24 aircraft that Oman Air currently has on order.

The airline’s existing fleet of aircraft comprises seven Airbus A330s, 17 Boeing B737s, four Embraer E175s and two ATR42s.

Over the next three years it is expected to almost double in size, with the addition of a further 15 Boeing B737s, six Boeing B787 Dreamliners and three Airbus A330s.
