One of the hardest things to deal with is insomnia and sleep deprivation. When sleep is short, we become more prone to illness, mood swings and even depression.

When you get enough sleep your immunity strengthens, you heal faster from illness, your organs have a chance to heal and regenerate especially the digestive system, among other important things.

Sleep will help you achieve all of that but on one condition. It has to be deep and peaceful sleep.

But where is this quality sleep in today’s stressed out lifestyle?

Let me give you a few tips to improve the quality of your sleep. First of all, don’t eat late at night. If you feel that your stomach is too empty before bed, drink a glass of almond milk because it is rich in magnesium which will calm the nervous system and aid sleep.

Second, separate your day from your sleep, which means you should take a few minutes before bed for unwinding and meditating.

Furthermore, make sure to shut down all technology at least an hour before bed. This means TV, internet, mobile phone, and any other electronic devices you may have. These devices transmit frequencies that affect the brain and influence sleep. This tip might be the hardest to implement but you must try.

And, last but not least, get help from nature. Lavender oil is well known for its effects on sleep. Put a few drops in your room or on your pillow before you go to sleep; it calms and soothes without any side-effects.

The most important step you need to do is to improve your sleep. And then let sleep solve the rest.
