The Royal Golf Club’s academy team has come up with something to appeal to every member of the family over the coming weeks, whether you’re a seasoned golfer or would like to give it a try for the first time.

If you’re a complete novice and would like to learn the basics in just one day, sign up for the ‘Learn Golf In A Day’ clinic on Saturday, October 25.

Spend just five hours with a PGA Instructor and learn basic swing technique, short shot and putting skills and the basic rules and etiquette of the game. After a short break for refreshments, put everything into practice by playing 9 holes on the Wee Monty par 3 golf course supervised by your instructor.

The clinic will take place from 3.30pm to 8.30pm and costs BD59 per person inclusive of all tuition, use of the driving range, golf club hire, refreshments and a certificate.

Existing golfers wanting to improve their game can sign up for the ‘Improve Your Golf Course Management’ lesson in which a PGA Instructor will accompany and advise them for a 9 hole round on the Montgomerie championship course. The cost for this is BD60 for members and BD75 plus green fee for non-members.

Beginners and developing players are invited to sign up for lessons on the Wee Monty course where they will be taught to improve both their long and shorter shots. The two-hour lessons will take place in groups of two to four players with times available on Wednesday evenings from 6pm and on Friday afternoons from 4pm.

For youngsters, another popular six-week course of group golf lessons gets underway from October 28 onwards. There are groups available for both beginners and improvers and the series costs just BD60 per child for a one hour lesson per week.
