Gulf Weekly Youngsters dominate

Promising 14-year-old golfer Yaseen Le Falher clinched victory in the October competition of the Euro Motors BMW Monthly Medal Series at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 68, leaving Bahrain National Team player Nasser Yacoob to settle for the runners-up spot with 71 nett.

Taimur Malik, 11, also won comfortably in the second division of the popular members’ series with a nett 70 while Brian Gray came second on nett 73. In division three Sam Jong Kim won first place with a nett 68 and Tony Meakin was runner-up on nett 79.

Former lady captain Debbie Lane achieved the best ladies nett score of 82 on countback. All seven players will progress on to the Euro Motors BMW Grand Final which will take place at the Royal Golf Club in December.

Everyone in the field had the chance to win a Mini Cooper as a hole in one prize on hole 16. Although no one won, there were several close attempts at the hole.

Category 1: 1st Yaseen Le Falher (nett 68), 2nd Nasser Yacoob (71). Category 2: 1st Taimur Malik (70), 2nd Brian Gray (73). Category 3: 1st Sam Jong Kim (68), 2nd Tony Meakin (79). Best Ladies Nett: Debbie Lane (82 c/b). 2’s Club Winners: Nasser Yacoob, Depriest Daniels, Jason Smith, Ronan Armstrong, Rob Lane, Hamad Mubarak.
