Batelco is launching its second photographic competition, entitled Bahrain Eye. It features six categories and is open to everyone who is interested in photography. Participants can compete with up to two photos in any or all of the following categories: Places in Bahrain, People in Bahrain, Nature and wildlife in Bahrain, Communication, Underwater photography and My country.

Manama Toastmasters is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year with a Gala Dinner ‘Old Goes Gold’ on December 6, at the Crowne Plaza, Bahrain Conference Centre.
 
Over the past 50 years Manama Toastmasters, affiliated to Toastmasters International, has helped hundreds of members from different walks of life, develop their communication and leadership skills with the help of a predefined programme. The club also engages in community services by conducting ‘Youth Leadership Programmes and Speech Craft to benefit the young and non-members.

An evening of education and entertainment is being organised by club members including a light-hearted debate, a stand-up comedy, music, dancing and dinner.

Test and Tune at the Bahrain International Circuit tonight is followed by Qualifying tomorrow, leading up to the second round of the 2014/2015 Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship Race Day on Friday.

Tickets to the Test and Tune cost BD2. Children aged up to 12 can attend for half the price. Racing tonight is scheduled to take place between 8pm and midnight. Tomorrow and Friday, racing resumes at 4pm.

Tuesday (December 2)
JJ’s Irish Restaurant, Adliya, is hosting another season of its annual Karaoke Idol. Back for its 10th year, the live show will be held every Tuesday until the Grand Final on December 23. The winner will receive BD1,000.

The first 12 participants to register from 8pm onwards will sing in front of three professional judges, and two will go through to the final while a third will go through via an online poll voted on by the public.
