Cory Twarog cruised to victory in the final Bahrain qualifying round of the Volvo World Golf Challenge, winning with a stableford score of 42 points on the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course.
Homer Guerrero claimed the runners-up spot with a score of 38 points and Khalifa Al Merisi narrowly clinched third place on countback with 36 points. Nearest the pin side contests on holes 2 and 16 were won by Helmut Franek and Sara Thompson.
The successful qualifiers from each of the six Bahrain qualifying rounds will go on to compete in a final round at the Royal Golf Club on December 5. The winners of the final round will receive a complimentary invitation to fly off to the five-day World Final, which will take place in April 2015 in Shanghai, China.
Here, they play for the chance of being crowned Champion of the World and will also have the opportunity to play alongside European Tour professionals in an Amateur-Pro Team Competition.
