The Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa is hosting an evening of Bollywood drama and action to welcome 2015 with a Happy New Year Bollywood Desi Dhamaka Filmi Shtyle.

The event will feature live entertainment with dhol players, Bollywood item numbers, a five-piece band, food counters and children’s areas and unlimited selected beverages. Attendees are encouraged to dress in the style of famous Bollywood actors and actresses.

The event will begin at 9pm on December 31 and run until 2am. The cost is BD35 net including a gala dinner and unlimited selected beverages, or BD30 net if purchased before Monday. Tickets for children aged seven to 12 are BD15 net and free for under sevens.

Finally, the hotel’s Ruka Japanese Restaurant is hosting an all-you-can-eat New Year’s Eve celebration, which will run from 7pm-2am. The event costs BD35++ per person inclusive of selected beverages.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa is hosting a New Year Celebration with a glamorous Fifties theme and numerous live shows.

When entering the hotel, guests will be driven to the ballroom by an antique car and in the reception area jazz trio The Zazous will entertain with music improvisation accompanied with petit canapés.

Inside the Al Noor ballroom, The Daily Specials, a five-piece party band from the United Kingdom, will provide the entertainment alongside The Flapper Dancers with their burlesque dance show. During the event there will be a gourmet five course menu.

For the countdown, guests will be provided with fizzy selected beverages to toast the New Year under a roof with confetti and balloons, before DJ Erin Campbell hosts a party in the Grand Foyer.

Perfumery and cosmetics leader Al Hawaj will hold its annual Shopping Bazaar from today until Sunday at Hall 2A of the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from 9.30am-1.30pm and 4pm-10 pm.

The Bazaar will feature local and global brands in perfumes, cosmetics, apparel, watches, skin care, leather bags, luggage items, gift sets and accessories at reduced prices.

The Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, Manama, is bringing festive activities to the kingdom this Christmas.

There will be a special Christmas Eve dinner buffet at Al Safir Restaurant from 7.30pm-11.30pm for BD13.900++ for adults. Children from four to 12 years get 50 per cent discount and below four years eat for free.

Christmas Day lunch at the same venue will feature roast turkey, tenderloin steak medallions, Christmas cakes and desserts for BD19.900++ for adults, with a 50 per cent discount for children aged four to 12 and free for under-fours.

Christmas Day dinner will be served from 7.30pm-11.30pm and is priced at BD12.900++ for adults, with the same pricing as above for kids.

From Sunday to December 31, Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) will be running an intensive four-day camp for children at the Dilmun Club, Saar. Children aged three to eight can join the first session, held from 8.30am-10.30am each day (BD40 for all days or BD14 per day), while children aged eight to 12 can join the second session, held from 10.30am-1.30pm each day (BD55 for all days or BD18 per day). The camps are open to all boys and girls including non-members and no previous tennis experience is necessary.

The sessions will include structured training in all strokes and footwork appropriate for the children’s ages and levels. Fun games and drills will be used to practice and reinforce the skills taught and prizes will be awarded to give the players extra motivation to perform at their very best. The camps will conclude with t-shirts, caps and certificates being presented to all participants.

This festive season, a Spanish Christmas meal will be offered at La Vinoteca Barcelona, Adliya, while a traditional Christmas lunch or dinner will be served at Café Amsterdam.

La Vinoteca Barcelona will offer an array of Spanish dishes. Choose from four different menu selections, including the ‘traditional’ (BD26++ per person), the ‘innovation’ menu (BD23++ per person), the ‘tapas’ menu (BD23++ per person), and lastly, the menu designed for large groups and parties, the ‘food pass’, carried out in a finger buffet style (BD22++ per person).

In celebration of National Day, City Centre Bahrain is exhibiting 10 C-shaped works of art throughout the mall for shoppers to enjoy.

The giant C-shaped canvases, designed by a group of talented artists from across the kingdom as well as from the Bahrain Arts Society, were inspired by the theme - ‘A Tribute to the Kingdom’. Each structure represents a part of Bahrain’s rich heritage and culture and will be on display until December 31.

Seef Mall is celebrating Bahrain’s 43rd National Day by hosting an inspiring community arts initiative. The event will run until Saturday and showcases traditional Bahraini games, music and handicraft. This initiative is to reflect the country’s achievements and its rich heritage as well as to encourage families to visit the mall to experience the spirit of Bahrain.

Tomorrow (December 25)
The Royal Country Club’s Family Movie Night takes place in the gardens from 6pm. All are welcome to attend and entry is free. The movie will be The Muppets Christmas Carol to celebrate Christmas Day.

The Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa, Seef, hosts a Seafood Night every Thursday at its Lemon Tree restaurant. On offer are lobsters, shrimps, octopuses and more. The cost is BD14++ for adults.

Batelco will present cash prizes and professional cameras to the winners of its second Bahrain Eye Photography contest at an exhibition to be held at Seef Mall today, tomorrow and Saturday. All winning photos will be displayed in a gallery during this time.

The Baharat restaurant at Le Meridien Bahrain City Centre is hosting a ‘Fizz Fare’ brunch every Friday until January 2. Running from 12.30pm-4pm, the brunch will have many varieties of sparkling selected beverages on offer and features numerous international live cooking stations and an assortment of international classics and modern fusions.
