WITH reference to the Bahrain Beachcombers youth football tournament at Bahrain Rugby Football Club on January 23, as featured in GulfWeekly.

The tournament preparations are going well:
* A match schedule has now been made, both for U9 & U11
* We seem to have enough volunteers for the day
* Intercontinental Hotel will sponsor six cups for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group
* We have various prizes for the raffles: Mövenpick brunch tickets, Wahoo tickets, BIC free tickets, a cultural course sponsored by Expat Angels and free European League tickets sponsored by RCI. We expect a few more sponsors in the next couple of days.
* Bahrain Beachcombers are very excited about the event
* And the Rugby Club is giving its full support (we are looking at a date for U12 and U8 tournament as well).

THE BSPCA Dog Walk will be held on January 30.  A fun day out for all the family, come walk your own dog, or borrow one of ours (pre-booking essential) for the 4km or the 2km walk.  Registration begins at 9am, walk begins at 10.30am.  There is a registration fee of BD10 per dog. 

And it’s the person who raises the most sponsorship money that wins a prize, NOT the first back to base!

LOVED Mai Al Khatib-Camille’s article on the very talented Areej Rajab; but images printed on paper can never do the original works justice. I was lucky enough to buy one of the two pictures you featured and it’s hanging in my office!
