The Chuckle Club Comedy Night is bringing another three shows to the kingdom this week, featuring comedians Sean Donnelly, Brendon Burns and Martin Mor. The first will be at the Rugby Club, Janabiya, tonight, with a show at the British Club, Um Al Hassam, tomorrow and finally at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, Manama, on Friday.

Albareh Art Gallery, Adliya, is hosting an exhibition titled Au Pays des Mollahs (‘Mollah’s Land’), which showcases paintings by Iranian-Canadian artist Sayeh Sarfaraz. The opening reception takes place at 7pm and the exhibition will continue until February 5.
A special Swiss gourmet feast will be available every day from today to March 7 at the Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain’s Silk restaurant in Muharraq. This includes classic Gruyere and Vacherin cheese melted in a white grape beverage. There is also Fondue Bourguignon served with beef cubes and a wide range of other fondues.

Lebanese-German artist Amal Deyhle will exhibit her work in Bahrain this week at the Hend Gallery in Muharraq. Under the theme Wander Lust, the paintings will showcase the globetrotting artist’s various influences.

Tomorrow (January 15)
A ‘Berber Women of Morocco’ exhibition will be held at the Bahrain National Museum, Manama, from tomorrow until April 15, as part of the 2015 ‘Year of Heritage’ festivities. It will be open from 8am-8pm.
The exhibition will showcase a wide range of objects and photographs in tribute to the women who preserve the Berber culture’s identity.
The Mercure Grand Hotel Seef is hosting a Turkish Festival from today until January 21. The event will feature traditional Turkish culture such as singing, dancing and other entertainment.
The Royal Country Club’s Family Movie Night takes place in the gardens from 6pm. All are welcome to attend and entry is free.

Words BookstoreCafé, Budaiya is hosting a series of workshops this month and next.
The first series is titled ‘The Reading Writer’ and explores short stories and novel excerpts from several master writers, focusing not only on the story being told but the way in which it is revealed. Classes will also include weekly writing exercises.
This series will run on Saturday, January 24, 31, February 7 from 9am-10.15am and costs BD50.
The second series is titled ‘Creative Writing Workshop’ and participants will have the opportunity to have their writing critiqued by a supportive group of writers. Classes will include discussions on the writing craft, suggested readings and writing exercises.
This series will run on Thursday, January 22, 29, February 5, 12 and 19 from 10am-11.30am and costs BD80.
The final series is a ‘Children’s Creative Writing Workshop’ and is open for children aged 13-16. This workshop involves creative writing exercises, where the aim is to create a portfolio of work and polish a short story to be read during the last class. Participants will receive written feedback on assignments and a progress report.
