The Bahrain Royal Equestrian & Endurance Federation (BREEF) held its fourth Show Jumping Championship on Saturday sponsored by Platinum Show Jumping Stable of Antwerp in Belgium through its stable manager Adnan A Alawi.
The sponsors provided great gifts for the winners of the five classes, including a week’s show jumping training at the prestigious establishment, 1000 euros, and the top prize of a show jumping horse.
Clinching the first of the prizes was young Ahmed Essa astride the lovely Osina. He won Junior Two and, later this year, he will be off to Belgium for a week of top class training at Platinum Stables, which will undoubtedly be an amazing experience, made even better as he will be accompanied by his brother, Ali.
Ali Essa, riding Collin, clinched top prize in the first of the adult events, a two-phase class, which also offered a week of training as first prize.
Sami Ghazwan took the trophy in the second of the adult classes and pocketed the big cash prize and Ali Essa, riding Pascal, owned by Muslim Ali, was once again triumphant after leaping to victory in the final Grand Prix adult class as the only pair clear in the first round.
As a result, a beaming Ali took the top prize of a young show jumping horse.
Also making the podium on Saturday in Junior One was Mayoof Al Rumaihi in first place riding Granus, followed by Hussain Mohammed Dadulla with My Baby. In third place was Nedhal A Nabi and Lucito Fool.
Following Ahmed Essa in Junior Two, was Kate Addison with West Wind, while Al Rumaihi took third place on Granus.
Mohammed Jassim with Al Yabes was runner-up in Adult One, and Basel Al Dossari took third on Dory. Basel featured again in Adult Two as runner-up with Dory. Runner-up in the Grand Prix was Sami Ghazwan astride Fairooz and third place went to Eyad Ahmed with Barelo.
The next BREEF show jumping event will take place on January 31. To know more about Platinum Show Jumping Stables check out their Facebook page or website www.platinumstable.com
