DANTELL, an extravagant Turkish brand that specialises in home textile and accessories, recently opened its doors offering luxurious products perfect for wedding gifts, receptions and anniversaries.

I popped to the media launch last week and was impressed with the gorgeous linen and bedding made from rich fabric, embroidery and lace. I told the owners, Maryam and Buthaina Al Khan, that the store was so lovely I didn’t want to leave.

A soft vintage palette of biscuit beige, classic white, blush pink, yellows and blues lulled the guests as they arrived.

Buthaina said: “We wanted to fill a gap in the market for bridal showers, weddings and hospital reception giveaways. We carry lovely bath robes, trays, tableware, towels and linen in elegant lace and fabric.

“I first found the store when I was in Turkey and spotted this bright boutique next to the Grand Bazaar. After walking in I fell in love with the products and purchased items for my new home. When I came back I told Maryam about this store inspired by the Ottoman Empire.”

According to Buthaina, the biggest sellers so far have been towel sets with coloured lace and ‘His’ and ‘Hers’ embroidered hand-towels in both English and Arabic.

Dantell was established in Istanbul in 2011in order to carry on the lace legacy of the Turkish culture to future generations by adding it onto modern designs.

The brand is positioned to be both conventional and premium chic. Its product range of bed linen; towels, cushions, bathrobes and tableware are designed to decorate the comfort of every home, as well as hotels.

It is also considered a destination for wedding registries, bridal showers and hospital receptions. The store aims to fill a gap in the Bahraini market by carrying out a wide variety of unique products that are affordable for gifts at any special occasion.
