Crowning glory

Despite not playing in the final competition of the series, the duo of Mike Brightmore and Jamie Bowen managed to hold onto their lead to be crowned champions of the six-week long BMMI Shops Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club.
 
The pair racked up two first place finishes and a fifth place in the series to achieve 11 points overall, giving them the title just one point ahead of runners-up Nils and Dagfrid Berge. while Abdulrahman Al Amar and Ali Saleh came third with nine points.

The final competition of the series, held in the 3 x 3 Rumble format was won by Steve Middleton and Ashley Price with a score of 31. Playing partners Rob Mills and Adrian Morgan were runners-up on 33 while husband and wife Nils and Dagfrid Berge came third with 34.5.

A prize presentation ceremony took place in the Members’ Lounge at the conclusion of play with prizes being presented by Sheldon Cameron, the club’s golf operations manager.

A new six-week run of the series began this week. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com.
