CIEANNA recently launched its Autumn/Winter 2015 collection at the Elite Resort & Spa. The new company was founded by 25 year-old Bahraini designer Anseya Gilitwala, who aims to celebrate fashion through creating a sense of ‘timeless elegance with a contemporary twist’. According to urban dictionaries, the name ‘Cieanna’ refers to a sociable woman who appreciates the beauty of nature and the refinements of life, and is moved by music and the arts.
This idea was thoughtfully portrayed in the classy catwalk event. The venue was romantic with billowing fabric that hung gracefully from the ceiling amidst five voluptuous chandeliers creating an ambience of soft sophistication.
The models were young with a look of innocence that did not take away from the designs as they floated down the runway to a punchy playlist.
The ready-to-wear creations used rich fabrics like silk and suede that took modest feminine shapes using muted shades. The colours used were from the popular Pantone list of 2015: tangerine, custard, treetop, dusky blue, tangerine, hunter green and various other natural hues.
“I design stylish yet functional apparel that will suit the many lifestyles of women today. It is essential for me as a designer to create looks that will make women feel and look their best, while still dressed comfortably. That is the foundation of my brand,” said Anseya.
