THE Rotary Club of Manama hosted its annual ‘Kick For A Cause’ Six-A-Side Football tournament, with more than BD22,000 being raised for charity.
Thirty male teams and seven female squads competed during an action-packed day at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Janabiya, which also staged live music and entertainment.
In the men’s elimination tournament, BMMI overcame Yateem Air Conditioning 3-2 in the final, whilst on the women’s side, Venus pipped Arsenal in a round-robin group format to claim the crown.
All funds raised by the event will go to screening and helping children with diabetes, financial support for the campaign to curb and eventually eliminate the scourge of sickle-cell and other genetic blood diseases, and organising events and days out for orphans and children with disabilities.
