THE 12th Nass Medal competition at Awali Golf Club on Friday attracted a field of more than 100 players.
The day belonged to Diab Sagar Al Noaimi, carding a nett-66 (gross 70) to be the overall winner as well as the medal for lowest gross score and a handicap cut from 4 to 3.
His play was particularly stunning as it included an albatross (three under par for the hole) – achieved on the 517-yard hole 5 ‘Eagle’s Nest’.
Those present at the prize-giving, including some players who have been playing at Awali since the 1060s, said that they could not remember this having been achieved in a weekend competition.
