Gulf Weekly Lanes are too good

Husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane were the runaway winners of the Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a massive 14 points in the order of merit.

The duo racked up the points after winning one competition in the six-week series as well as clinching second, third and fourth place finishes.

Rajinder Sachdeva and playing partner Kwang Seok Kim came a distant second in the order of merit with seven points while Steve and Samantha Hill were third with six points.

A promising pair of young Bahraini golfers, Eid Adel Meftah and Ali Al Kowari, won the final competition of the series with a score of 31 points on countback, just wresting away the win from the Lanes.

There was a three-way tie for third place which finally went to Adnan Al Sowaidi and Sharif Ahmed with 26 points on countback.

Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Mohamed Akeel and Steve Hill respectively.

The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge where Sheldon Cameron, the club’s golf operations manager presented the prizes.

1st Eid Adel Meftah & Ali Al Kowari (31 points c/b), 2nd Rob & Debbie Lane (31), 3rd Adnan Al Sowaidi & Sharif Ahmed (26 points c/b), 4th Khaled Al Omran & Sam Jong Kim (26 c/b), 5th Rajinder Sachdeva & Kwang Seok Kim (26). Nearest the Pins: Mohamed Akeel (hole 12) & Steve Hill (hole 16).
