The Dilmun Club, Saar, is hosting a ‘Home Alone’ BSPCA Quiz at 7.30pm on August 13. It costs BD5 to participate and there will be a BD2 entry fee for non-members. A ‘Taste’ exhibition will be on display at Malja, Amwaj Islands, from August 15-30. It features a collection of experiments by a group of artists in an effort to synthesise through art.

Unified under the notion of ‘identity’, each artist chose to transform an object into another sense other than the obvious sense perceived from it. The aim is to push boundaries of imagination and to allow brains to wander and experiment without expectations.

The first edition of Animate Dubai will take place from December 3-5 at Dubai Design District in the UAE. The three-day festival offers a weekend packed with animated films, themed talks, activities for all ages, and a chance to meet animation pioneers from around the world.

Arab and international animation professionals, amateurs, and students are invited to submit features, shorts, series, experimental and commercial work across all genres before the deadline of August 20.

An evening of entertainment with footballing stars Robbie Fowler and Lee Sharpe will take place at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa on September 18 from 7.30pm. FOOTGOLF continues to grow in popularity at the Royal Golf Club with scores of players heading to Riffa Views every Sunday evening to participate.

This fast-growing sporting craze combines football and golf with players kicking a football into giant-sized cups on a golf course in as few shots as possible.

The competitions kick off at 7pm under floodlights on the main Colin Montgomerie-designed course and are open to all.

‘We are now getting 60 to 70 people each Sunday - it’s really taking off!” explained Sue Addison, senior marketing & PR manager.
