More than 100 players participated in the Royal Golf Club’s Greenkeeper’s Revenge on Saturday, playing in a four-player Texas Scramble around the course with a few alterations from the club’s director of agronomy, Jordon Fairweather.

All participants were tested with quick greens, tractors set on the course as hazards and blowers positioned near the greens to make sure there were no easy putts.

The winning team included husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane, Graeme Newport and Todd Gillespie with a nett score of 57.5 which saw them secure first place by a stroke.

The runners-up team consisting of Liam Hunt, Ollie Hunt, Tom Hanratty and Richard Wilkinson finished with a nett score of 58.8.

Royal Golf Club Professional David Edwards won the nearest to the pin on hole number two, with Matthew Deakin picking up the nearest the pin honours on hole numbers seven and 12.
