Lanes triumph

The second round of the VIVA Monday Madness Night Golf Series was clinched by the husband and wife duo of Rob and Debbie Lane with a nett score of 30 points in the 2-player Scramble.

The father and son pairing of Navid and Taimur Malik came second with a nett score of 32 points, closely followed by Ahmed Daij and Dave Fernie on 32.5 points.

Rob received an additional prize for winning the nearest the pin side contest on the 12th hole, while Ebrahim Al Hashel was nearest the pin on the 16th hole.

A strong field of 40 golfers turned out for the competition. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the club’s tournament co-ordinator presented the prizes.

Results: 1st Rob & Debbie Lane (30 points), 2nd Navid & Taimur Malik (32 Points), 3rd Ahmed Daij & Dave Fernie (32.5 Points), 4th Rob Mills & Adrian Morgan (32.875 Points), 5th Sharif Ahmed & Adman Al Sowaidi (33.750 Points). Nearest the pins: Rob Lane (hole 12) & Ebrahim Al Hashel (hole 16).
