The third round of the VIVA Monday Madness Night Golf Series was won by the team of Tapan Vaidya and Iftikhar Butt with a nett score of 29.9 points in the 2 player Scramble.
The pairing of Rob and Debbie Lane came a close second with a nett score of 30.6 points, just ahead of Rob Mills and Adrian Morgan on 31.
Rob Lane was closest to the pin on the 12th hole for the second week running, while Aziz Ahmed took the honours in the nearest the pin contest on the 16th hole.
A full field of 44 golfers turned out for the competition. The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members Lounge where Sohail Singh, the club’s tournament co-ordinator, presented the prizes.
After three rounds, Rob and Debbie Lane lead the series’ Order of Merit on nine points, followed by the pairings of Vaidya and Butt, Mills and Morgan and Graeme Newport and Todd Gillespie who each have five points.
The series takes place at the club every Monday. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at the special summer rate of BD18 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
