A delegation from Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company’s (GPIC) executive management team visited Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Cardiac Centre at the BDF Hospital and was welcomed by its director Dr Resan Badran and other senior officials.
Dr Badran briefed the visitors on the new facilities and said it had now become one of the largest and most advanced medical centres in the treatment of heart disease in the region, attracting patients from Bahrain and across the region.
He said when the on-going expansion project is completed, the facilities will be able to provide a more comprehensive service and gradually eliminate the waiting list for treatment.
The new facilities will include outpatient clinics, a department of radiology & imaging, a pharmacy, a physiotherapy department, another for sterilisation and emergency management, as well as additional operating theatres, along with a laboratory and different wings for men, women and children.
When completed in the first half of 2018, the centre’s bed strength will also increase from 68 to 148.
GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery said the company would provide increased support to the centre.
