Stay connected

For good solid shots, the body and arms have to work together through the swing.

In the takeaway, the leading arm swings across the chest; from this position simply turn the upper torso to reach a ‘coiled’ position at the top of the swing. This feeling of your arm staying connected to the body will ensure the right sequence of movement, allowing for a better swing path and solid strikes.

Next time you practice, try placing a small towel or head cover under your lead arm and try to keep it from falling out through the backswing and downswing, giving you the sensation of staying connected.
