The second training show was held over the weekend at the BDF Equestrian Centre in Sakhir, sponsored by the BREEF Showjumping Committee, writes Jerri Taylor.
The arena was a buzz of excitement as everyone gathered to walk the skilfully-designed course which was spearheaded by Hussain Al Mosawi.
The first class consisted of heights ranging from 85-95cm. Both were special two-phase classes allowing competitors to jump all the fences despite faults.
With over 40 entries there was fierce competition. The stadium was at full capacity with excited spectators watching as their friends and family members competed on their faithful companions.
The first class was a thrill to watch as BDF rider Saber Salman Faraj and BDF Noor rode with precision to win first place in a time of 26.06 secs.
Close on his heels was seasoned BDF rider Ahmed Mansoor with the magnificent Edward Du Sud with a time of 27.4. In third place was Abbas Al Ghuraifi on the beautiful Champagne in 30.31.
In the second class, the fences were raised to 105-115cm. In first place was Sami Ghazwan on the lovely Fairooz who skilfully made tight turns to steal victory with a smoking fast round of 27.57.
Mansoor had a beautiful round on BDF Edward Du Sud with a time of 28.11 to take second place, while third place was captured by Ahmed Al Jahromi riding the beautiful Evelyn in 30.11.
It was a spectacular show and spectators in the stadium cheered on all the riders.
