Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE) has unveiled a programme of parallel conferences and workshops linked to the upcoming 2016 Gulf Industry Fair, iTech Industry, gulfBID, Gulf Interiors and Gulf Property Show.

Managing director Jubran Abdulrahman told a news conference at The Domain Bahrain Hotel: “The exhibitions industry is not a passive partner in the growth of the national economy of Bahrain. The events launched by HCE for 2016 will cover a wide spectrum of sectors that are of growing importance in the GCC and we expect that they will be as popular in 2016 as they were previously.”

The fair takes place on April 26-28 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Sanabis.

A ‘B2B - Meet The Big Boys’ event will be held at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters in Sanabis on December 6 from 9.30am-2pm.

It will feature small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who will get a chance to interact with large corporates and institutes, with the aim of encouraging partnerships and creating business opportunities for small entrepreneurs.

Hamed Fakhro, pictured above, committee member, said: “The SME Majlis is the first of its kind, and it aims to bolster companies by introducing them to large influential corporations with purchasing power and give them an opportunity to be their suppliers.

“Each large company (the big boys) will have their own mini ‘majlis’ (traditional Bahraini seating) in a semi-formal arrangement where they meet with suppliers that are of interest to their organisation. Each small company will have 15 minutes to pitch and discuss their service or offering. It’s kind of like a ‘speed-dating’ for companies.”
