SUPPORTERS turned out in force to cheer on the 177 teams taking part in the 35th annual Bahrain Marathon Relay which started and finished at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
Friday’s annual charity sporting spectacular, organised by Bahrain Round Table with the support of Bahrain Athletics Association, was staged over 16 legs of approximately three kilometres and was won by the Nada Dairy team in an impressive two hours, 29 minutes and 29 seconds.
Courageous entrants Great Lakes Dredgers finished in final place after crossing the finishing line in just under five hours and 20 minutes but the big winners were the charitable good causes with an estimated BD25,000 raised by the event.
GulfWeekly’s representatives, editor Stan Szecowka and sales manager Camille Jones, were guests in the Tekkers Trim team, sponsored by Villa Mamas Bahrain, and came in an above mid-table position in a finishing time of just over four hours.
