Two lucky lads are enjoying their newfound fancy footwork after engaging in a session with famous football freestylist Tom Vegter.
Owen Wrankmore and Khalid Sayed won a competition hosted by the Tekkers Football Academy which offered an hour-long masterclass to the two children who could rack up the most ‘Likes’ promoting the star’s visit on Facebook and Instagram.
Owen, eight, said: “I was really shocked when I found out I won, but so excited! I really liked the ‘round the world’ trick that Tom showed me and I’m going to be practicing every night. I hope one day I will be as good as him.”
Dutchman Tom, 23, who also performed at the Bahrain International Circuit as part of the entertainment during the Bahrain Relay Marathon, held sessions at the academy’s base at RCSI in Busaiteen and Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Janabiya, and was impressed with the silky skills shown by the youngsters.
“Owen and Khalid have been great. They’re quite shy but have actually picked things up quite fast and they obviously enjoy it, so I hope they continue practicing,” he said.
