Generally, the first few times a golfer plays on the course, they are surprised at how fast the other players move around the course. Your speed of play is important, so that you don’t interfere with other golfers on the course.
Try to keep up with the group playing directly ahead and always be aware of those behind. For example, if you have lost ground and turn around to see players waiting, the polite thing to do is to step aside and allow the players behind to play through.
Be prepared for your shot, have your club ready and even have the practice swings while your partners are playing their shots, providing you don’t interfere with their stroke.
Get to your ball quickly – again, as long as you are not in the line or ahead of your partners, this is perfectly acceptable.
When you arrive at the green, place your bag en route to the next hole, so that you can walk straight to the next tee after you complete the hole.
