Gulf Weekly Brightmore shines at night

Michael Brightmore won the second competition of the Royal Golf Club’s Ramadan PowerPlay Series with a score of 27 points. Sam Jong Kim took the runners-up spot with 25 points and Dustin Whiteley narrowly clinched third place on count back with 22 points.

Sohail Singh, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator was on hand after the competition to present prizes to the winners.

The exciting PowerPlay Stableford competition, which was played on the floodlit back 9 holes of the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course, gives competitors a choice on each hole between an easier ‘white’ flag option and a harder ‘black’ flag option at each green.

In an added twist, competitors are forced to play the ‘black’ flag on at least three of their nine holes and those successfully completing the harder option receive double points for the respective hole.

Results:
1st Michael Brightmore (27 points), 2nd Sam Jong Kim (25), 3rd Dustin Whiteley (22 c/b), 4th Brian Bridgeford (22), 5th Wayne Giles (15).
