September is going to be a big month for Splash as the fashion label will be launching a new cool campaign with Bollywood star and model Katrina Kaif offering a feminine touch, writes Mai Al Khatib-Camille.

Raza Beig, director of Landmark Group and CEO of Splash and ICONIC, below right, is thrilled to have signed the trendsetter along with Salman Khan, featured above, as brand ambassadors.

He said: “Katrina was an obvious choice given her global appeal, her talent and impeccable style. Both Katrina and Salman Khan appeal to all generations and it is this love for them that we aim to capitalise on in their very first joint brand endorsement.”

The 33-year-old British multi-award winning actress, whose father is of Kashmiri Indian descent, is excited to be spreading the brand’s philosophy of getting more people ‘in love with fashion’ … especially since the on-screen starlet’s cinematic break first came to her after being discovered while modelling.

Whether Kaif dresses down in trainers and a fun top or goes glam in a lace gown and stilettos, as captured right, her look attracts plenty of attention.

She said: “As a brand, to me Splash embodies effortless style and great fashion which is what I associate with personally. I am very happy to represent the brand as an ambassador for the Middle East, a region that has given me and my movies so much love and support.

“We are in the process of shooting this amazing, high-fashion campaign and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store this season.”

While the winter collections are yet to be revealed, Splash’s current summer collection is receiving rave reviews for its sporty, chic and bohemian styles.

Tribal prints are still all the rage joined by floral, paisley prints and monochromatic looks. Shoppers can beat the summer heat by mixing and matching the brand’s colourful range of blazers, camisoles, denim and trousers.

And, when things get too hot to handle, the denim can be ditched for an airy, flouncy skirt. Splash has a variety of maxi dresses and minis as well in bright hues and stripped earth tones.

Some dresses even have bedazzled shoulders to accentuate their style, allowing women to feel free with a loose fit or show-off curves with skin-tight numbers. There is also a range of active wear to help wearers look fab while keeping fit as well as a huge wall featuring Lee Cooper’s denim and ‘boho’ collection.

The skirts and shorts can be teamed up with funky printed T-shirts or a long denim dress with a light wrap for that ‘country-girl’ appeal.

Outfits can be easily accessorised with an assortment of necklaces, earrings, handbags, bracelets and wraps.

MAI’S VERDICT: Splash is all about looking good without burning a hole in your pocket and personally, I love a great bargain. This Lee Cooper cotton, button-up dress was perfect for a bohemian vibe with its crochet sleeves, hem and back. I also loved the pockets and the comfort, plus the draw strings at the waist for either a tight or loose fit. A summer steal at BD4.800. I accessorised the outfit with a feathery brown, gemmed necklace for BD2.500 and a suede bag for BD4.
