Swimming clinics set for arrival of freestyle champion Pipes

Karlyn Pipes, World Masters Swimming Champion and world record holder, is excited to come back to Bahrain during the first two weeks of September to offer a series of Faster Freestyle and Open Water workshops to the local triathletes and swimmers.
While Karlyn lives in Kona, Hawaii, she travels the world teaching athletes of all ages and abilities how to swim faster with less effort at her Aquatic Edge workshops. Pro triathletes Michael Weiss, Angela Naeth, Chris McDonald, Matt Russell and even Macca have worked with her in the past.
Besides being a world-renowned swim technique expert, in 2015 she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame for her personal accomplishments. She is also an inspirational speaker and an author of a recently released memoir entitled The Do-Over.
Her Faster Freestyle clinics will be held on Friday and September 16, from 1pm-5pm, and each costs BD60.
They will cover the following:
Step-by-step stroke Faster Freestyle progression
Emphasis on balance, correct head and body position
Focus on swimming faster with less effort
Effective breathing techniques
The power of a wide entry ‘early catch’ stroke
On September 9, she will host an open water/triathlon clinic which costs BD30. This clinic will cover:
Effective open water strategies, tactics, sighting and drafting
How, where and when to start in the line up
Overview of the wider freestyle that can help you swim straighter
Training and pacing suggestions…and much more!
