Brand new model makes its ‘marque’ in the kingdom

Hyundai’s first-ever luxury automotive brand has been unveiled at a glitzy ceremony with a launch of its flagship model, the Genesis G90.

Distributors First Motors staged the event last week at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain attended by VIPs, motoring enthusiasts and members of the media.

Nawaf Khalid Al Zayani, managing director of First Motors, said: “The Genesis flagship sedan focuses on ‘human-centred luxury’ with cutting-edge innovations. Being the brand’s first model, this is a milestone in Hyundai’s history and we are honoured to present this fine example of automotive technology and performance engineering to Bahrain.”

The Genesis G90 – price starting from BD31,100 – is described as a ‘premium luxury sedan’ and is available in six colours. The model’s identity is conveyed through a Genesis-family design feature, the ‘crest’ grille, crowned with the winged Genesis emblem.

It comes with standard 19-inch alloy wheels with chrome dual asymmetrical exhaust tips integrated in the lower bumper balancing the vertical LED taillights.

Technological safety aspects include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start, Smart Blind Stop Detection and Lane Keep Assist.

Powered by a choice of 3.3 litre V6 or 5.0 litre V8 engine coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Genesis G90 comes with a lifetime warranty, five years / 100,000kms service package, 5 years roadside assist, home-to-home service and Genesis Concierge Service.
