Stephen Hill won his second straight competition in the new Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club, this time helped by wife Samantha.
The pair achieved a score of 25 points, giving them a comfortable three point lead over their closest rivals. The count-back system was needed to establish the runners-up after three pairings all scored 22 points apiece.
Eventually Ali Al Hakam and playing partner Ali Al Kowari were given the honour while Ladies vice-captain Stacey Thomas and her playing partner, David Wales, had to settle for third place.
Wales won an additional prize for winning a nearest the pin side contest on hole 16 and Saud Al Sherif came closest on the 12th hole. The two player better ball stableford tournament was played on the back 9 holes of the club’s Montgomerie championship course and was followed by a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge where Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes on behalf of Coca-Cola.
The Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series competitions take place at the Royal Golf Club every Monday evening. The 9 hole competitions are open to nonmembers at a cost of just BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
