Gulf Weekly Girls just want to have fun

Why should mothers have all the fashion fun this festive season as little girls want to get in on the sparkly action as well … namely curly haired Layla Khonji.

The tiny two-year-old showed her Ironman mum and Tru Active Bahrain sporty apparel founder, Dana Zubari, how to get into the spirit of Christmas by donning two of the holidays hottest trends.

The little lady got all glammed up in proper princess attire as she picked out a pastel dress to paint the town red or in her case pink. The gown she fell for, called the Baby Estella dress, is from popular British brand Monsoon located on the ron floor o it Centre Bahrain and priced at BD39.500.

The beauty of this empire-line dress, which is cinched at the waist with a tie-up satin bow, is that it has a shimmering lace bodice and a layered tulle skirt dusted with glitter…and tulle is where it’s at for toddlers at the moment.

Before ballerinas and ice skaters were the exceptions to the rule, pulling off tulle skirts to twirl in. Now the delicate fabric is making an appearance in the fashion world in different looks and styles such as midi, long, or short skirts, with or without volume and using plain or printed tulle.

Children’s brands such as Monosoon betted on this trend and brought the fabric for the little one’s wardrobe. Trendsetting Layla paired her ensemblewith flowery party shoes from the store priced at BD10.400 and a shimmery bag witha colourful butterfly clasp at BD 5.200.

She pulled back her tresses with a matching headband at BD3.400. After admiring herself in the boutiques mirror she marched over to the mall’s Alice in Wonderland Winter Tale showcase situated in the Central Galleria to pose for the GulfWeekly camera and show shoppers what children style looks like.

Parents adored the pretty-in pink princess as she twirled near the animatronic displays. She was Alice incarnate as she weaved through the magical maze ready for a tea party herself. After receiving a few ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from parents passing by the display, she then changed into casual, fun clothing from Gap Kids toddler section which is also located on the ground floor.

The American label, which has special offers on clothing for teens, adults and kids, fither style perfectly. Onceagain she made a look that is ‘in’ this season stand out and that was by wearing a grey sweater.

It’s been a while since the colour was back on the runway and there are many reasons to use it in children’s looks. Being a neutral tone, it matches with everything allowing for parents to accessories with other colours and prints.

She sported the pink-nosed Inatrsia reindeer grey boat neck sweater on top of her Tru Active Bahrain leggings and topped that off with a pink puffy vest.

The sweater was on sale forBD10 and the vest was BD20. Not only is she stylish but she is thrifty too. She then showed off her chilled day-to-day look at the winter exhibit for all to see.

After her modeling debut was over, she marched her mum back to the stores to pick up the items and since she spent more than BD30 they were eligible to try their hand at the stand’s Tree of Luck which features black and red scratch cards offering different prizes.

Many stores are also offering major deals for the season. Visitors spending BD30 or more in shopping, dining, or entertainment will also get the chance to win an array of exciting prizes including  BD 25 worth of mall gift cards and other surprises from participating retailers. Those who spend BD50 will instantly receive an exclusive Kids Art Kit.

The fun doesn’t stop there as Alice and her friends including the Rabbit, the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts roamed the  mall from, regaling visitors with catch hre ch   ith their heads” and “Down the rabbit hole”.

The exhibit will be available until January10, 2017.
