As a part of the celebrations for French Week, Swiss-Belhotel Seef will be hosting an Alsatian dinner buffet in partnership with Chef Jean Paul Bostoen from Auberge de I’ill restaurant in French Alsace (3-star Michelin). The price is BD12net per person including soft drinks. The event will take place on January 20, 21 and 22.

THE annual Autumn Fair is set to open its doors to shoppers from January 25 to February 2 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre, writes Mai Al Khatib-Camille.


The 28th edition of the nine-day shopping extravaganza, which is held under the patronage of the Bahrain Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, will be featuring a variety of textiles, electronics, lighting fixtures, carpets, jewellery, specialty foods and furnishings spread over an area of 16,000sqm in three halls.


It will feature more than 750 stalls from 19 countries including China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Turkey, Thailand, Syria, UAE and Yemen promising to feature thousands of bargains.


Arabian Exhibition Management’s project manager, Yaqoob Ali, believes the Autumn Fair is Bahrain’s biggest and most popular annual consumer products exhibition. He said: “The exhibition centre becomes a colourful bazaar, transformed by traders who have travelled from far and wide to Bahrain bringing with them their country’s best exports.


“Visitors can look forward to potential bargains and new-to-market products. Numerous local businesses also regularly take part in the exhibition and many offer special deals to visitors.”


Last year, more than 200,000 visitors from across the region flocked to the festival.


Entry is 800fils and children under the age of nine will be admitted for free.


Tickets can be purchased during show opening hours. The exhibition will be open from 12pm-10pm on January 25, from 10am-2pm and 4pm-10pm on January 26, from noon to 10pm on January 27, from 10am-2pm and 4pm-10pm on January 28, 29, 30 and 31, and from 10am-10pm on February 1 and 2. Ladies only mornings will be held on January 29 and 30.

Words Bookstore Café is hosting a talk with actress Rana Alamuddin, who is most notably known for her role in The Young and the Restless, will talk about ‘coming face-to-face with your desire and your authentic self’.


The Desire Map is a response to seeing so many people - especially women - struggle, burn out, deplete, lose themselves or simply accept to live unfulfilled as they strive for balance, joy, self- expression, sense of purpose, love or success, she says.
