The City of Lights sparkled even brighter with dazzling designs and glamorous runway shows during the recent Paris Fashion Week.

The event focused on the latest Autumn and Winter 2017-2018 styles offered by designers from around the world including the Middle East’s renowned Ingie Chalhoub’s INGIE Paris wear.

INGIE Paris, which was set up in 2009, is a prêt à porter line that embodies elegance, sophistication and quality. With four collections created a year, Ingie enjoys unveiling day wear, cocktail dresses, evening dresses and accessories for women on-the-go.

An opulent room full of gold mouldings, chandeliers and a fireplace was the perfect setting to feature the brand’s range of sophisticated silhouettes, edgy chic suits, voluminous skirts and beautiful fabrics.

Models illuminated in romantic outlines that also offer a touch of late 70s sophistication. Inspired by a Parisian salon, they were draped in undulating capes, floor-length skirts, oversized bows and sleeves in flows of silk crepe.

To contrast the romantic vibe, Ingie added a 80s rock ‘n’ roll feel by dressing models in cigarette trousers and jacquard suits. Tulle gowns embroidered with sequins were also admired and should prove perfect for a night out on the town.

Fashion followers couldn’t help noticing Ingie’s use of airy, transparent and super fluid fabrics including tweed, jacquard, silk and satin.

The season’s colour palette features Parisian zinc, bronze, ink, amaranth and crème. Black, in nuances of night, underscores the collection.

Light plays on material textures across lacquer, mat, satin and Pekin stripes. Ingie added oversized pearls, which is a signature style to her brand, to complete the look. She also featured dragonfly embroidered brooches and a collection of jewels such as crystal clusters cast from ‘desert rose’ mineral formations in pale yellow and white gold. Footwear in silk and jacquard are equally adorned with pearls and asymmetrical ruffles.

Her collection is being featured at Etoile La boutique in City Centre Bahrain.

Aside from being a designer, Ingie is the president and managing director of Etoile Group which is a company that offers style and luxury brands in the region.

Ingie launched the first-ever Chanel boutique in the Middle East during the group’s inception in 1983. The company now features more than 80 high-end fashion boutiques across the region, representing some of the best worldwide brands such as Chanel, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Tod’s, Hogan, ISSA London, INGIE Paris and the multi-store brand Etoile La boutique.

Labelled as one of the Top 100 most powerful Arab women, outside Etoile, Chalhoub picked up L’Officiel magazine’s 2009 Businesswoman of the Year Award and is also one of the select few on the board of Dubai International Fashion Week.
