Zenithand Land Rover celebrated their creative relationship by presenting a newChronomasterEl Primero, Range Rover Velar special edition, during the recent 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. 

The timepiece featured an elegant brushed grey dial with copper-toned details, a rubber strap coated with black-toned perforated calfskin, inspired by ideas from both brands’ product design and engineering departments.

The designers called it a watch to ‘embrace the heritage and strong credentials’ of two legends. In 1969, Zenith unveiled its fabled El Primero chronograph. That same year, British car manufacturer Land Rover introduced the prototype of its very first luxury off-road vehicle, the iconic Range Rover, which hit the markets in 1970.

Jean-Claude Biver, Zenith CEO & President of the watch division said: “Zenith is the ultimate reference for chronometry (precision timekeeping), having won 2,333chronometer prizes. Range Rovers has just launched the Velar, only the fourth model in almost 50 years, as featured in last week’s MotoringWeekly.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover chief design officer, added: “The Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity, elegance and a touch of glamour to the Range Rover family. TheChronomasterEl Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition, created with these very same principles, comes with a bloodline likeno other and is refined for every occasion. It will stir the emotions.”

The new timepiece, priced at around $8,700 (BD3,300), celebrates the strength and significance of a partnership that is fully geared up to go the distance.
