A wide selection of musicalacts will take to the stage during the Formula One weekend at Bahrain International Circuit.
Headlining the bill is Enrique Iglesias, the biggest Latin recording artist in music history, as featuredon Page 2 of this week’s issue. He will perform on Saturday, April 15, following F1 Qualifying.
Afterwards, Grammy-nominated electronic dance star Steve Aoki will take to the stage. He has collaborated with other major artists such as LinkinPark, will.i.am, Afrojack, LMFAO, Iggy Azalea and Lil Jon, to name a few. Aoki was ranked ‘Best DJ in America’ by DJ Times in 2015.
On Friday, French DJ Klingandewill bring his brand of melodic house music to Sakhir. He completes an all-star cast of that also includesthree other globally renowned DJs who will be performing on theFriday night, DJs Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and MATTN.
In addition to the musical acts, a plethora of alternative entertainment options will be on hand in the BIC’s vending area during the race weekend. These include Sign Spinners, a specialist duo thathas been at the forefront of entertainment sign spinning for over six years, ballerinas who will be performing to a medley of classical tunes, and a Flowers Parade showcasing dancers in colourfulcostumes, grooving to the rhythm of samba and Caribbean music.
There will also be Crazy Clowns, Senmaru: From The Land of the Rising Sun, a master of the juggling performing art, CircodiStrada, an acrobatic and theatrical circus group, Triumfostilt-walkers, and finally the World Parade Circus from Nice, France.
Furthermore, an internationally-acclaimed drum and bugle corps will be thrilling audiences on Sunday. The US-based Blue KnightsDrum and Bugle Corps will be performing live on the island for the first time.
The Blue Knights will wear red and white in honourof Bahrain’s national colours.
The musicians have thrilled audiences around the world with their unique brand of marching pageantry. They were the featured performers for the Tao Yuan International Band Festival in Taiwan and performed for the opening ceremonies of the 2016 FIS World Cup Alpine Ski Championships.
Based in Denver, Colorado, the Blue Knights ensembles have performed at presidential inaugurations for Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, in concerts with Keith Urban and Taylor Swift, and are featured performers for the Denver Broncos American football team, aswell as numerous other annual events throughout the US.
For theyounger fans, there will be a plethora of activities to keep them entertained in between the races.
A dinosaurs and Ice Age tent will feature an exhibit of 24 life-like dinosaurs and 10 animals from the Ice Age. There is also a maze, backdrop scenes, an interactive area, a dinophoto booth as well as all necessary props to dress up the location. Some of the dinosaurs will come to life as they include animatronics, such as the terrifying T-Rex.
Meanwhile, drumming dinosaurs will be a kids’ entertainment puppet show that will perform in the tent. They combine a blend of puppetry, live music, comedy, and heart-warming themes to deliver a fun-filled interactive show for the whole family.
A two-dinosaur puppet show of Brontoand Dino play live African drums, andinteract with the audience through songs, dances, and special comedy segments. The show also features positive messages about environment and co-operating with each other.
Finally, there willbe a haunted house, featuring a massive maze filled with zombies, ghosts and other creatures that will give you the chills.
