An International Labour Day Festival is being staged at the Saar Mall to support and thank the kingdom’s workers.
The event, which will be held this Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 9pm, will feature a range of activities and games for the entire family to enjoy as well as stands promoting start-up businesses and other companies.
There will also be more than 20 booths for the ‘Bahraini productive families’ to showcase their handcrafts and goods.
Esmahan Bokhowa, Saar mall manager, said: “We are organising this event to honour the tremendous contribution of the working class in our country. We urge everyone to join us in appreciating, admiring and recognising the efforts of all these hard-working men and women.
“We also wanted to promote and raise awareness for the many start-up companies in the kingdom which is why we have a number of stands showcasing newcomers to the business scene to help give them a boost.”
On Friday, the shopping complex has invited the Bahrain Free Labour Union Federation, delegates from Bahrain Youth Investors, bloggers and various business group families to help kick off the festivities.
Businesses under the wing of Tamkeen’s Mashroo3i, which is a youth business initiative, will also displaying their products and services. Some of the businesses included are Little Pose, a photography company that will be staging a newborn photo-shoot session and Decorative Factory which will present its Bahrain-made embellished glass, metal and wooden pieces. They will all also be present on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament Jalal Kazim, Ghazi Al Rahma and Mohammed Abu Al Shouk will be launching the event on Saturday and presenting certificates and plaques to invited employees from the mall and municipality.
There will also be a motorbike show to entertain visitors as well as games for the entire family with gift prizes presented by different tenants to be won in the mall.
Food and beverage outlets including KFC, EZ Burger, Natural Bites and Papa John’s will also be offering 50 per cent off deals in the food court during the festival. Jasmi’s Jay the Fries mascot will also be entertaining children and the burger chain will be staging a buy-one get-one free promotion.
