The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in close cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), has launched a ‘Domestic Tourism Survey’, which aims to monitor all recreational and leisure trips of residents for the year 2016-2017.
The survey aims to provide detailed data, including overnight trips of domestic visitors within the kingdom, as well as data related to outbound travellers. It will help decision-makers develop policies based on accurate information.
Call centre staff members will contact Bahraini and expat families. Inquiries will also be taken via the hotlines on 17878162 and 17878165.

It’s that time of the year for us at Ballare School of Performing Arts where we will be holding our annual performing arts production at the Cultural Hall on Friday at 5pm.
The show this year is titled: NEW YORK, NEW YORK - The City that Never Sleeps.
It’s a special year for us as we are celebrating our fifth anniversary and as a ‘thank you’ to all our parents and guests we have a lucky raffle to give out in which the entire audience can participate in.
Hala Al Zayani,
director.
I AM writing to you on behalf of The French School of Bahrain.
The secondary school students are staging their annual musical La Belle Dame de Paris on Thursday, May 18, at the Cultural Hall at 6.30pm. The students have worked very hard.
They are performing to raise money for charity. Last year, the proceeds from the musical were given to Al Sanabel orphanage and the Smile Association.
Our pupils take pride in performing a musical in the English language which in some cases is their second or even third language.
The musical features super-hot songs in Arabic, French and English.
This year, our musical is in ‘Franglais’ and we can promise that the audience will be in for a treat!
Sadaf Karim, teacher, musical writer & director.
I loved your review of the recent TribFest in last week’s GulfWeekly. I think Mai Al-Khatib-Camille captured the true essense of this family musical extravaganza.
The artistes may not be the originals but they certainly know how to entertain.
Can I also add my congratulations to the organisers and the hosts for a job well done.
Mariam, Saar.
I could not believe what I was reading in last week’s issue on the FashionWeekly page.
Surely people are not deluded enough to pay a fortune for a pair of pretend muddy jeans? Have they got more money than sense?
I’m thinking of advertising a pair of my ‘original’ well-loved smelly socks, black, worn on the heels. Any takers?
