Bunkers undergoing redesign

The Royal Golf Club’s practice chipping green area has been closed for maintenance and the agronomy team is redesigning the bunkers and shaping the putting surface area.

The new design promises to offer players more options for chipping and bunker play as well as giving an extended practice putting area.

Although the major ground works will be completed in the first half of May, the turf will need time for recovery and grow-in prior to re-opening for play. In the meantime, the practice putting greens will remain open during work and the practice area behind the first tee boxes is available for bunker play.
