It has been a busy week so far. Caught the flu, examinations till Friday, course deadlines to meet, university applications to think of … in short, I have had a lot on my plate these last few days!
On the upside, what I also had on my plate were the palatable noshes and nibbles in the midst of the celebrations of Eid.
I feel that this festival offers every individual a different reason to celebrate which plays on the purpose that the individual finds most worthy of cherishing, reasons that they believe in and are passionate about.
My reasons to celebrate have evolved through the years with my constant search to find something important enough. This year, my reason was rather simple and I didn’t have to look for it either.
With my last examination still remaining, my family and I chose to stay at home and spend some time together so that I could revise as well.
Little did I know that it would be one of my best days ever?
Life moves so fast that we often stop living it, we start living a schedule instead. We rarely do what we feel like doing but always what we ‘should’ be doing.
Unknowingly, this Eid, I celebrated having a family, something I am extremely fortunate and blessed to have but rarely remember to be thankful for.
And, since you can’t pour from an empty cup I feel there should be enough love at home, in the family, enough so it overflows and reaches others and touches their lives too.
I hope everyone had a happy and prosperous Eid al-Fitr. Love and peace to all. Eid Mubarak!
