LuLu Group, and global payments technology company, Visa, held a prize ceremony for shoppers at its Juffair store for the first group of Ramadan promotion winners.
Running for a second year in a row, the initiative offered exclusive benefits to cardholders during the holy month. Those using their Visa and spending BD10 or more at participating LuLu Group outlets in Bahrain were entered into weekly draws for the chance to win 50 Samsung S8 Smartphones.
Mohanish Agni, head of merchant sales and solutions, MENA, Visa, said: “The promotion was designed to reward consumers for choosing the convenience, speed and security of their Visa credit, debit or prepaid cards over cash to pay at the checkout.”
Bahrain has been among the top countries in the region to witness a strong growth in consumer spending, both in online and in-store shopping, with younger consumers driving these changes.
Juzer Rupawala, regional director - Lulu Hypermarket, added: “The rewards promotion by Lulu and Visa was our way of acknowledging our customers’ new spending and payment habits and we were delighted with the enthusiasm shown by them.”
