British singer, actress and style icon Rita Ora is hot right now for luxury Turkish street-wear label Les Benjamins as she sports a series of the brand’s spring and summer 2017 collection.
The 26-year-old trendsetter, who is better known for her trademark Hitchcock-blonde waves, siren-red lipstick and grunge-meets-hip-hop wardrobe, has always been fearless when it comes to fashion. She has been compared to the likes of Marilyn Monroe combined with a dash of salt ’n’ pepper.
The former America’s Next Top Model host is a huge fan of the edgy line which has a hip hop culture vibe.
She has been spotted on the streets in the labels latest Zaire leather biker jacket as well as other hoodies. And, while the brand is geared towards men’s fashion, women have been caught incorporating the labels crisp T-shirts, buttoned-up tops and hoodies as baggy and cosy wardrobe pieces.
Rita’s 90s-infused love of colour-popping prints, body-con dresses, high-tops and denim, not forgetting her voluptuous red carpet looks, make her the perfect match for Les Benjamins line which combines an old-school urban feel with a modern twist.
The brand based in Istanbul was founded by Bunyamin Aydin who is also its creative director. He is known for translating stories, cultures, traditions, and rituals of the East into sophisticated street wear. With a framework of cultural heritage, and a contemporary mindset, his designs explore the unexpected fusion of the past and present through digital print, and artisanal textures.
His collection features long hoodies and sweats with colour blocks of black, white and beige as well as textured and patterned jackets and tops. He tends to use a lot of zebra, geometric and tribal prints on his tops and jackets as well as prints of turbans and camels for that Middle Eastern ambiance. Zippers also play a role in his line.
Aside from Rita, Bunyamin has collaborated with other musical artists including Travis Scott, Wiley or Section Boyz - promoting his strong belief in the progressive, cross-disciplinary spirit of fashion today. Other fans of the brand include actor Jaiden Smith, model Cara Delevigne, French music video director and song writer Woodkid and model and actress Jourdan Dunn.
The collection can be found in high-end luxury boutiques in Bahrain and Dubai as well as online.
