Some of you may have been aware that Tony Waters, otherwise known as ‘Tony the Dog Father’, has been suffering from cancer for the past 18 months. Tony has cancer of the colon which is spreading throughout his organs. He has tried various treatments before but the cancer has returned and now he is undergoing new treatment that will hopefully save his life. It is very expensive so we need your help to raise another BD10,000 to fund his treatment. Please - no matter how little it is - please donate.

We need to save Tony, he is a remarkable man.

Please help and thank you! People can donate through this his Go Fund Me page www.gofundme.com/tonystreatment.To find out more, check out this YouTube link as well https://youtu.be/d1WyBIep9YY

On Sunday morning, the GulfWeekly team received some sad news that Haitham Assem, The Westin and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre’s complex director of marketing, will be leaving us all behind to join another hotel in Dubai in August. Haitham has done a remarkable job with the The Westin and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre and we would like to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. He will always be remembered for supporting the Road to Awareness fundraising campaign cycling challenge back in August last year in the French Alps in aid of a children’s charity.

He successfully climbed some of the most fearsome routes featured in the gruelling Tour de France race. He will be missed by all and Dubai is lucky to have him.
