SHOPPERS flocked to the Lulu Hypermarket in Galleria Mall to celebrate India’s Independence Day last week for a dazzling display of spicy fare and special promotions.
The retail giant featured a two-day shopping bonanza across all its stores on grocery produce and electronics, as well as staging an Indian food festival, to mark the country’s 70 years of independence.
Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha, said he was ‘delighted’ to inaugurate the event at the Zinj store, saying that the event delivered a showcase of Indian products ranging from ‘vital food grains that are such an integral part of the Bahraini table to fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood from India’.
“Lulu Hypermarket represents a valuable bridge between India and Bahrain and this was an excellent opportunity to highlight the range and variety of Indian products to shoppers,” he added.
