ONE of the kingdom’s most popular electronics stores has launched a new mobile app it is confident it will help shoppers uncover a ‘one stop destination’ for their home and leisure gadget desires.
The new Sharaf DG App can search products, highlight features and offer comparisons. Users can also check stock availability across Sharaf DG store locations, add a product to a wish list, as well as share details with friends and family.
Nilesh Khalkho, CEO of Sharaf DG, said: “We want to commit ourselves to serving our customers better by creating a great customer shopping experience and I welcome all our customers to download our new mobile app, visit us on our website and be connected with us on our social media channels.”
The Gulf News recently described him as ‘the man who introduced the big box concept’ to neighbouring UAE, retailing a large variety of products under one roof. In fact Nilesh Khalkho began his career as a scientist in the early nineties in the Defense Research and Development Organisation in India after completing his bachelor of engineering degree in electronics and communication.
Arriving in the UAE in 2002, this Jharkhand native moved to Sharaf DG as head of retail operations in 2004 and was made CEO in 2008. He credits his success to his need to solve problems. “Coupled with a drive to succeed, I am always looking to solve challenges,” he added.
The challenge of catering for a growing demand for ‘on the move’ mobile shopping led to the new app being created and it allows customers to add an Air Miles loyalty card. They can buy products using a smart phone and arrange home delivery across Bahrain.
Customers who buy online or on the mobile app can also now visit stores to pick up their purchases. The ‘Order Online and Pick-Up In-store’ service is available at all stores in Bahrain – Bahrain City Centre, Enma Mall and Seef Mall.
Sharaf DG, a part of the Sharaf Group, has received numerous accolades since its inception, including the ‘Most Admired Retailer of the Year’ from Retail ME.
With the recent rapid developments in technology, it can be quite intimidating and confusing for customers, the company explained. Sharaf DG aims to provide a complete shopping experience to customers with continued focus on:
• Product availability
• Best price guarantees
• Help with audio and video installations, computer setup and servicing and mobile handset repairs
• Plus ‘Tech Bench’ in-store counters offering free expert computer advice and set-up services.
Sharaf DG stores are currently operating in 36 locations across the GCC.
