Fashion designer Latifa Al Gurg, founder of contemporary women’s-wear label Twisted Roots, recently launched a new autumn/winter 2017 line, inspired by her travels to the Czech Republic’s capital city of Prague.

The roots of the city’s landscape are embedded in each piece of the cool collection without compromising on Latifa’s signature-style.

Each item boasts exquisite fabrics with delicate details and perfectly designed for the comforts and functionality of travel, which is the essence of her brand.

The Prague Collection, which was created by a team of pattern-cutters and seamstresses based in Dubai, features layered pieces that are easy to mix and match in deep purple, teal, blush and classic ivory.

Highlighting shapes and styles that pack small and wear beautifully, the line features mucha trousers, cape cardigans, maxi dresses, cropped tops and silk shirts with meticulous attention to folds and pleat detailing around cuffs, collars and seams in the finest fibres such as 100 per cent cotton and silk.

The brand has captivated women across the globe and can be found at leading retailers in Dubai, in the US and in the UK.

Twisted Roots, which was founded in 2014, derives inspiration from the journey of different travellers and Latifa’s life. Originally an electrical engineer, Latifa, of Emirati and Danish descent,  established the label to fill a gap in the market for women who sought high quality, versatile yet fashionable clothing for traveling and every-day life.

The brand is influenced by elements of different cultures and the fabrics are flown in from multiple countries including Japan, China and Italy with a focus of finding the finest material.
