The Concerts at St Christopher’s Cathedral series is back with a performance from Bahraini flutist, Ahmed Al Ghanem, accompanied by Japanese pianist, Mina lwahashi.
The concert will take place on September 21 at 6pm at St Christopher’s Cathedral. Tickets are BD5 and may be purchased at the door, or in advance from the Cathedral’s office by calling 17253866. Keeping with the Cathedral’s tradition, accompanied children may attend free of charge.
Ahmed, currently the head of music department at the Directorate of Art and Culture, has played flute internationally, appearing at UNESCO concerts in Paris and Havana, Cuba.
After finishing his training at the Cairo Conservatory, he continued studying the flute in London.
Mina studied the piano from the age of five and spent four years living in Russia studying at the St Petersburg State Conservatory. She currently teaches piano in Bahrain.
