MORE than 90 players teed off in in pleasant conditions for Awali Golf Club’s Friday competition, the inaugural American Express Medal – a singles strokeplay event.
Taking the medal was Adnan Al Sowaidi with a gross 70 net 64. The competition gross winner was Fares Al Qutami with gross 81, net 63, pipping Adnan into second place.
Division 1 Winner was Ahmed Al Noaimi with gross 70, net 65, with runner-Up Hamad Al Qutami achieving a gross 71, net 66.
Division 2 Winner was Mahmood Falamarzi with gross 78, net 65, and runner-up Mario Carangan Jr came home with gross 80, net 65.
Division 3 Winner was Bronson John with gross 87, net 65, and runner-up Kern Wales, playing in his first official competition, notched a gross 87, net 66.
The prize-giving was well attended and a generous prize table of electronics and accessories as well and food and refreshments were provided by sponsor American Express.
