However, this proved to be short-lived as Dutch airline KLM fulfilled their role as Scrooge. Two out of his family’s three suitcases didn’t arrive at Humberside airport having been stranded in Holland, including the one with the wrapped grandchildren’s presents in.
He was then informed that the cases couldn’t be delivered before he was due to take a train to London where he would exchange gifts with grandchildren. Bah humbug!
